The material that is needed to create the crafts that we propose today is one that everyone has in their homes, since it is an object of habitual use. We are talking about the clothespins, which in today’s post will help us to create fantastic toys for the little ones.
In this way, and with these crafts, we will achieve two objectives: to have the children entertained during their creation and to take advantage of the creation through the game once it is created.
Children’s crafts with clothespins
Transport
The means of transport attract a lot of children’s attention. That is why, from several clothespins, you can make one of them: the plane. To do this, you will need the following materials:
- As many clothespins as airplanes you want to create.
- Popsicle sticks.
- Glue.
- Painting.
The clothespin will serve as the basis for the plane, while the popsicle sticks will be the corresponding wings and propellers of this means of air transport. If you don’t have popsicle sticks, you can use other materials such as cardboard, foil, cardboard and even plasticine to create these elements.
In the front part of the tweezers, where they are held, you will have to stick one of the sticks on the upper part and another on the lower part. Then, you will have to place one in the front part, which will act as a front propeller, and another in the back part.
You can paint this craft with the colors you want and exchange these between the different planes that you create. A quick, simple children’s craft that will give them a lot of play in the future.
A photo frame
The time that we are having to live will be marked for life. For this reason, and for the memory, you can create a photo frame and take a photo to never forget this time. To do this, you will need:
- Five clothespins.
- Glue.
- Painting.
The first of the steps that you must follow is recommended that an adult do it, since you have to split the clamp into two halves. To do this, it will only be necessary that you remove the iron that joins them.
Once we have the ten separate sticks, you can paint them in the colors you want; in this way, we will have carried out the second step. The third and last will consist of gluing the tweezers together when they have dried.
To create a more fun effect on the frame, we advise you to stick the clips one in the opposite direction of the other. And you can now include your photo!

Mermaids
One of the fantastic beings that children like the most are mermaids. This is due to the relationship they have with the sea and, consequently, with water, one of the favorite elements of most children.
Therefore, another of the children’s crafts with clothespins that we propose is the creation of mermaids. To do it, you will need:
- As many clothespins as mermaids you will create.
- EVA rubber.
- Cardboard.
- Glue.
The clamp will be the body of the mermaid. With the EVA rubber and the cardboard you will create all the additional elements of the mermaid, such as the hair or the tail. All this to your liking.
Worms
Creating animals will delight the little ones because they love them. Therefore, one of the simplest animals to create will be worms or caterpillars. To do this, you need:
- Colored pompoms.
- As many clothespins as animals you want to create.
- Glue.
- Moving eyes.
The first step will be to glue the pompoms in line on top of one of the sides of the clip. You can choose the combination of the colors of the pompoms to your liking.
In this way, you can create explosions of colors that the little ones will love. Finally, and to give our characters more liveliness, we will also glue the moving eyes with the glue.
